Sail cargo in action

The sailing schooner Adventure called at Nicaragua and Mexico. A transport mission symbolic of the future of shipping: sustainable, fair and deeply rooted in cooperation. Peggy Engelmann reports.

A wave of sustainable trade has just docked in Hamburg. On Friday, Peggy from the Fair Winds Collective arrived in the city to coordinate the unloading of 42 tonnes of coffee and cocoa beans ashore. These had been transported emission-free across the Atlantic by the AVONTURE, Timbercoast’s majestic freighter. Partner of Fair Winds Collective.

This initiative demonstrates a powerful partnership between Timbercoast and Fair Winds Collective, joining forces for a new kind of logistics – one that prioritises environmental integrity, fair trade and educational opportunities. The voyage included not only precious cargo, but also valuable experiences in sail training, science and sustainable navigation.

As the beans are unloaded at the port of Hamburg, the waves of this mission are spreading further and further: inviting others to reshape global trade, support community-based supply chains and participate in real climate action.

Sailed. Not shipped. Traded. Not traded off.
