Sail Training International updates
This year, the Tallship Races, organised by Sail Training International (STI), will again be held on the Baltic Sea. STI reports on it in its, just released, comprehensive news update.
The Tall Ships Races Race Director Magda Makowska says: “As we continue our preparations for The Tall Ships Races 2024, we have started our final personal visits to the host ports for the event.
We have recently made great visits to Tallinn, Helsinki, Turku and Mariehamn and are looking forward to seeing our friends in Klaipeda and Szczecin in the coming weeks. These visits give the project teams in each host port a chance to visit the event site and discuss plans for it, to create an unforgettable welcome for trainees, the fleet and visitors in each city.
We are delighted to return to the Baltic Sea after seven years and bring the majestic and unique spectacle of the Tall Ships Races to the region. We are confident that these ports will embrace the international Tall Ships fleet, with their maritime heritage, commitment to youth development and adventurous spirit. We have worked closely with each of these cities, and cannot wait to see the years of hard work and innovative plans come to life this summer.”
