Donating now possible with payment link and QR
By popular demand now possible: easy donation to the Zeepost Foundation with a payment link and QR.
For the newsletters Zeepost, Scheepspost and Windassist, the Zeepost Foundation charges a contribution of € 20 per year. Until now, this had to be transferred manually by typing in our account number on your bank’s website or app, or copying and pasting it.
We have received suggestions from several people to make this easier with a payment link and/or QR code. Some were even helpful enough to already construct a QR code for us themselves, although these did not always work*.
It took some doing to choose the right software and a payment provider and then set it up and test it properly. Furthermore, some additional payment methods had to be available because we also have donors in neighbouring countries (iDeal really only works in NL). With the bilingual Windassist, we hope that the number of foreign donors will increase.
But it works now. You can still donate in 2 ways:
- Just choose an amount (€20 or more) and then transfer directly.
- Donation with invoice in (company) name. There is a payment form for this where you provide address details. The invoice will be sent by e-mail.
The new donation page can be found from the front page of zeepost.info via ‘About Zeepost’ > Donation,
or click here.
*) There are several websites that allow you to generate so-called EPC QR codes. These work as a kind of reusable ‘tap’… if it works. But unfortunately, far from all banks still support the European standard EPC QR code. In the Netherlands, Rabobank, ABN AMRO and Triodos, among others, do not support it. So we put a payment provider in between anyway, just like with webshops etc.
