New building progresses for TOWT

French shipping company TOWT, which currently operates the 80-metre sailing freighters Anemos and Artemis, is working hard to expand its fleet.

Four newbuildings are under construction at a yard in Vietnam, marking a major step by the shipping company towards a commercial sailing freighter fleet.

The construction schedule of the next four TOWT ships

The keel of the most recent ship, the Asterias, was laid in May this year. The Atlantis, the ship currently in the most advanced stage of construction, is expected to be delivered in 2026.

With this expansion, TOWT will have the largest fleet of cargo ships that can actually operate entirely under sail.
