Clipper Stad Amsterdam in dock at Oranjewerf
The Clipper Stad Amsterdam is in dock at Damen Shiprepair Oranjewerf in Amsterdam for maintenance. The ship is there for a new paint job, annual inspections and a whole list of smaller jobs.
After a two-year voyage around the world, the Clipper Stad Amsterdam returned to her home port of Amsterdam this summer. During Sail Amsterdam, she was the flagship during the Sail-In Parade on 20 August. The ship has been in the shipyard since 11 October.
Damen is proud to take the ship under their wing once again: ‘This 76-metre three-mast clipper is a masterpiece of maritime craftsmanship, combining 19th-century elegance with modern comfort. With 31 sails and a striking clipper bow, she is a true symbol of sailing heritage,’ said a Damen spokesperson. ‘Our team is honoured to provide a ship that reflects our passion for precision, quality and dedication.’
The ship leaves the yard 8 January 2026 and will then head to IJmuiden. From there, sea trials will be carried out. After that, the ship will leave for Portugal and sail to Tenerife with embarkation vessels.
