Dealfeng strengthens position in wind drive
Chinese green energy technology company Dealfeng New Energy Technology recently attracted a hefty investment from TZME (TianJin), a foreign mechanical equipment company.
The multi-million Renminbi investment (RMB – Euro ratio is roughly 7:1, ed) represents not only a capital injection, but also a “deep” strategic cooperation between the two Chinese players. More specifically, the duo’s cooperation includes the design, production and market promotion of wind-assisted propulsion systems (WAPS) for ships.
In the future, Dealfeng plans to use TZME’s ‘robust’ manufacturing resources to make a significant leap in production capacity, enabling the annual production of 50 sets of rotor sails.
Own wharf
Moreover, the partners expect the Tianjin Lingang No. 19 Wharf to be operational within the factory site by 2027. Once operational, Dealfeng will become “the only WAPS manufacturer in the world with its own wharf”. With this advantage, Dealfeng hopes to significantly improve production efficiency, control costs more effectively and improve its market position.
Founded in 2012, Dealfeng is one of China’s pioneers in green energy technology. The company specialises in research and development, design, production and customisation of wind-assisted propulsion systems for ships. Its core product is the rotor sail, which has received relevant certifications from various classification societies and has been installed on several ships.
