Neoline further inland in Canada
Neoline, the pioneer company in low carbon windpowered shipping, announces a one year renewable partnership with Agence maritime Montship.
Montship, which will act as liner services and port agent for Neoliner Origin in Halifax (CAN). Neoline is continuing the commercial roll-out of its transatlantic sailing route with a new extension to Canada, serving Montreal and Toronto.
Speaking on Canadian radio, a spokesperson for the company said that the US government’s current stance on climate change within the IMO had played a significant part in the decision. The President of Montship Inc, highlighted that both companies are committed to offering innovative solutions that put the planet, the development of international trade, and the communities at the forefront. “This collaboration marks an important milestone for Montship, in line with our core pillars: Sustainability and Human-Centered Operations.
As the local agent in Canada, Montship will now handle the operational management of Neoliner Origin’s port calls in Halifax, coordinating port operations, ship services, regulatory formalities, as well as passenger embarkation and disembarkation. Neoliner Origin’s first call in Halifax is scheduled for June 22nd, 2026.
Thanks to its local presence and in depth knowledge of the North American market, Montship Inc. also becomes a key commercial relay to support the growth of Neoline’s first sailpowered rollon/rolloff cargo vessel. This partnership also opens new development opportunities for Neoline’s transatlantic service by enabling extended connections to Montreal and Toronto through a rail offer represented by Montship and operated via the Canadian National Railway (CN). In recent months, Neoline has notably strengthened its integration into the supply chains of the sector’s major players. CMA CGM, a minority shareholder in the company, has made its services available to Neoliner Origin customers, thereby integrating the sailing service into its transatlantic network between France and North America. The services offered include regular sailings between Montoir-de-Bretagne, Baltimore and Halifax.
