Fairtransport and route
Both Tres Hombres and The Tukker have started their summer trips. They are heading to very different destinations in Europe though. The Avontuur is on its way back from its winter trip to Boca Chica.
Tres Hombres returned to Amsterdam on 4 May. Unloading the winter cargo and changing the crew went very quickly this time. Because of the start of the summer season, the crew had to get everything done in just two days! As always, they accomplished this almost impossible task and sailed off to new adventures.
They joined the Tukker in Belgium to attend four beautiful sunny days at the Blankenberge harbour festival. The Fairtransport team was well represented with crews from Tres Hombres, Tukker and the sales team. During the festival, two new sails were hoisted, made by the crew this winter.
From La Rochelle to the Baltic Sea
After Blankenberge, Tres Hombres set sail for La Rochelle to load wine and began the return voyage to Denmark at the beginning of the month. In Copenhagen, a full cargo hold of bottles of wine was unloaded for our Danish friends. The weather was sunny, the atmosphere was great and the work went smoothly. Some trainees even enjoyed life on board so much that they decided to extend their trip with Tres Hombres and its crew by a few days.
After Copenhagen, they set sail for Bornholm, where the last wine bottles had to be unloaded. The next destination was Den Helder for a quick crew change.
The Tukker and her debut at Fairtransport
The Tukker began her first season with Fairtransport by visiting two maritime festivals. After a few days alongside Tres Hombres in Blankenberge, De Tukker continued the festivities in Belgium with Ostend for Anchor. The weather was again mostly sunny and the ship and crew were very happy to welcome many on board for a small tour of the ship.
After the festival in Ostend, The Tukker set sail for Liverpool. Some members of the refit crew joined us to help with the journey to England and to load rum for our partners in the Netherlands. Although it was the first time The Tukker was loading rum, everything went very smoothly thanks to the fantastic work of the crew.
Last Thursday, De Tukker arrived in IJmuiden where they unloaded all the rum the next day. The office team came to greet the ship and crew and helped unload, a great way to get away from the computer screens for a while.
The Avontuur: countdown to IJmuiden
After 29 days at sea, the Avontuur arrived in Horta (Azores) on 15 June. A week later, the ship and her crew set sail again, this time towards IJmuiden in the Netherlands! We expect her around 8 July to unload delicious rum loaded in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic. After visiting the Netherlands, she will return to Germany, her home country, where she will unload the rest of the cargo.
